The Arrábida Natural Park is a region of high heritage value due to its natural and cultural values. Walking through its valleys, we can admire the limestone geology of the sedimentary formation, the folds produced by tectonic movements, the fluvial quartzite deposits. From a botanical point of view, we observe the biodiversity of Mediterranean species, the forest environment of human occupation and the agricultural crops of vines and cork oak forests and the great variety of fauna that inhabits Arrábida in a perfect biodiversity. |

AND ARCHEOLOGY OF PORTINHO DA ARRÁBIDA Duration: 3 hours Distance covered: 3 km Meeting point: Parking at Creiro, Portinho da Arrábida. Themes: Nature, archeology, history, natural cave. Portinho da Arrábida is one of the places in the region that, in addition to its natural beauty, presents a rich and diverse set of interests of a geological and archaeological nature, including the Roman settlement of Creiro, Pedra da Anicha and the Cave Lapa de Santa Margarida. In addition, it has an important heritage and historical aspect, as a defense port for the coast, installation of the Convent of Arrábida and a fishing and summer resort for many generations. Taking this route means having easy access to a class of enormous scientific and didactic interest. |

The Sado Estuary Nature Reserve is one of the most important nature protection zones in terms of flora, fauna and habitats. Although marked by great urban and industrial pressure, it is possible to walk along the banks of salt marshes and wetlands and see some important estuarine ecosystems. These places were marked by the traditional production of salt and purification of oysters that nowadays are converted into fish farms and fishing gear and excellent places for bird watching. |

AND ARCHEOLOGY OF SERRA DO LOURO Duration: 3 hours Distance traveled: 6 km Meeting point: Palmela, Bus Station Themes: Landscape, nature, geology, archaeology, heritage. The Arrábida region contains valuable treasures and varied information about the geological evolution of the territory and its occupation since the Neolithic period. Discovering and interpreting all these signs is possible in a simple and didactic way along the Serra do Louro and Quinta do Anjo mountain range, where oyster beds and fossilized corals are visible and a large number of archaeological testimonies in the form of engravings, settlements , castros and graves excavated in the rock. It is also a privileged place for the global observation of all the orography related to the formation of Serra da Arrábida. |
